Application Eligibility

Program eligibility

Eligibility Criteria
  In order to be eligible to apply for our program, you must meet all of the following criteria: 
  • A student who plans to pursue one of the ULMSP designated health degree programs and meet the definition of either educationally or economically disadvantaged are eligible for participation.*
  • Enrolled in the UniversityLink, or IGETC program at a community college and plan on transferring to UCSD.
  • Completed at least 24 units at the community college and be currently enrolled in 12.0 semester units, unless completing the last semester before transferring to university.
  • Have an intention to transfer to UC San Diego.
  • Possess a minimum GPA of 3.50.
  • A U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Please Note: Students who are accepted to ULMSP must commit full-time to this program. Summer classes, employment, and other commitments are not allowed during the residential program.

​* Individuals are considered educationally disadvantaged if they come from an environment that has inhibited the individual from obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to enroll in and graduate from college, a health professional school or allied health program. Individuals are considered economically disadvantaged if they come from a family with an annual income at or below low-income thresholds according to family size, as published by the U.S. Bureau of the Census.
